Homebody Gift Guide 2024

guides Nov 23, 2024

As I get older, all I want to do . . . is to stay home. You, too? If you're a homebody at heart or love someone who is, this guide has a few things that have made our home even easier place to stay.

Note: Some links may be affiliate. Thanks for supporting my small business.

1. Our Place Griddle Pan: I got this to use as a stovetop griddle for our pancakes and grilled cheeses, but I've also used it for fried rice (on the stovetop) and other roasting dishes in the oven. It's SOOOOO good, and I'm so happy I got it.

2. Hedley and Bennet Apron: I got this linen apron in mustard last Christmas and wear it daily while cooking and baking. It's lightweight, has good pockets, is easy to put on and take off, and loose-fitting, and very easy to wash. And I still feel cute while wearing it while meeting my functional needs.

3. Electric Kettle: You will wonder how you lived without this . . . This electric kettle boils water SO fast for your tea, hot chocolate, or even ramen.

4. Paperage Notebooks: I love these notebooks so much and buy the packs of them over and over again. The paper is smooth, with a decently thick cover. It's like moleskin without the $$$. I use them for everything--from grocery lists, to to-do's, to taking notes during my coaching calls and interviews.

5. Tul Gel Pens: Stop looking for the perfect pen--this is it! I horde these and hide them from my kids, who love to steal them. They make writing easier for my "doll hands" (AKA arthritic, but pretending otherwise) and I don't like to write with anything else.

6. Flecks of Gold Journal: (Use code "ABOUTPROGRESS" to save more.) This is a parenting journal, but I honestly think it would be fabulous for any homebody who wants to journal more, with a special emphasis on noticing the good. I am going on year 4 of writing in mine (each journal lasts for 3 years) and it's the most consistently I've both journaled and documented my kids's lives (something I'm otherwise pretty terrible at). There's a good variety of cover options, from linen to vegan leather. They are made to last, and I've been pretty rough on mine as I take it on every vacation, too.

7. Our Place Wonder Oven: Air fryer, toaster oven, and more (6 cooking options!) in one. Plus, it looks cute on a counter. I've been surprised how much I use ours, from air frying some tater tots quickly as a side, to baking up a few cookies or biscuits at a time. Brad's a fan, too.

8. Waterproof Timer: We got this for our ADHD kids who need help showering in a reasonable amount of time. While ours is hanging up in the shower (it's waterproof!), it would also be a great kitchen counter addition, or even for your desk so you can use the Pomodoro technique with getting things done--from bills to work.

9. AirDoctor Air Filter: (Use code "MONICA" for up to $300 off their filters--I have the 3500.) Well, well, well--the product I didn't know I'd love until I had it in my possession. AirDoctor started as a podcast sponsor, but has ended as a personal obsession. I get great comfort with our AirDoctor purifying the air in our main area, including a kitchen with a gas stove and an attached garage with people coming and going. Ours has helped lessen my allergy symptoms as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for any home enthusiast.

10. Woven Baskets: I got these from Amazon this past Spring and have used them countless times to house sourdough bread, muffins, crackers, tortilla chips, etc. Great for a party, but most often I use the biggest 2 for dinner.

11. Geometry Towels: (Use code "ABOUTPROGRESS" FOR A DISCONUNTThese tea towels match the hype! I went a little overboard and bought like 30 of them last Spring to replace all my Costco tea towels that were ready to be retired as rags.  I kept half and slowly gave the other half away as birthday gifts. The towels are very absorbent, big, and so cute. I recommend making sure your selected designs hide stains well, as the back will get stained--and that's OK. We REALLY USE them:) We are also big fans of the dish towels.

12. AquaTru Water Filter: (Use code "MONICA" for 20% off on any water purifier system.) We have the countertop pitcher version and it's FANTASTIC. My 6 year old calls it the "Best Water Ever." It's very easy to set up and maintain--just clean the tank and the pitcher weekly. Your family will drink more water and you can rest assured of its purity.
